Vijayawada: All is set for the launch of first new domestic terminal at Gannavaram Air port on Thursday. Union minister for civil aviation P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the terminal and set foundation stone for the runway extension works.
The Chief minister will participate in the Aviat-ion Summit at Hotel Gateway. More than 200 national and international aviation agencies will participate in sessions on ‘Building India’s Leader-ship in Aerospace Manufacturing and MRO’ and ‘Airport- Airline Synergies.’
Addressing the media, Krishna district collector Babu A, along with the aerobatics team of Global Stars, United Kingdom, who will perform at the air show, said that the city will witness a spectacular air show performed by noted aerobatics Mark Jeffrey, Tom Cassells, Chris Burket, Steve Carver and Micheael from the UK.
He said that the district administration, along with tourism department and the VMC, made all arrangements for the air show on the banks of river Krishna. The VMC had spent around Rs 80 lakh to develop the riverfront for this show.
More than 200 delegates from across the nation will attend the show. Mr Mark Jeffrey said that it gives pleasure performing in India. Global Stars started its journey in 2011 and gave many performances.
