4 judges cleared for Hyderabad HC
Hyderabad: The Union government has cleared the names of four judicial officers working as ‘principal judges’ in the combined judiciary of AP and Telangana, to be appointed as judges of the Hyderabad High Court.
The Supreme Court Collegium has already recommended to the Centre the elevation of Ms. J. Uma Devi, Mr N. Balayogi, Ms T. Rajani and Mr Shameem Akhtar as judges of the Hyderabad High Court.
Ms Uma Devi is at present working as Chief Judge for the City Small Causes court, Mr Balayogi is holding the post of Chief Judge of the City Civil Court, Ms T. Rajani is working as Hyderabad Metropolitan Sessions Judge and Mr Akhtar is holding the charge of Registrar (Vigilance) at the High Court.
Sources said that as the PMO cleared the names of the four judicial officers, the President is likely to issue a warrant of appointments by appointing the four as ad-hoc judges of the HC in the next couple of days.
