In 2007, the state implemented its Akrama Sakrama scheme, calling upon citizens of Bengaluru to regularise structures with FAR and setback violations. In 2007, the BBMP was entrusted with the duty of collecting applications and resolving the issue. It was so successful that they collected over 20 crore. However, the high court struck down the scheme following a petition and the Palike was forced to refund money to applicants.

Mr Babu, will all Akrama become Sakrama with this?

The BBMP will rake in revenue with the Akrama Sakrama scheme, making a mockery of the law.
