Thiruvananthapuram: Viji, wife of Sanal Kumar who was accidentally kill-ed by Neyyatinkara DYSP B. Harikumar, has started an indefinite dharna in front of the secretariat on Monday. Viji, who arrived with her family comprising of two children and Sanal's mother, is demanding the government to meet the promises given to her. “We are in deep financial crisis and living at the mercy of relatives. We cannot continue depending on others. We don’t have money even to pay the power bill. Loan payment has also stalled. I will continue the dharna till we get justice,” said Viji.
Earlier, the government had assu-red Sanal’s wife a government job and adequate co-mpensation. However, all procedures in this regard were stalled following the death of the accused DySP Harikumar. The plan is to hold indefinite dharna fr-om 9 am to 5 pm. “Oppo-sition leader Ramesh Chennithala has promised to take up the issue. I met the Chief Minister a couple of times, he said he will look into the matter,” said Viji. 32-year-old Sanal Kumar, an electrician hailing from Kodangavila, was killed after he was allegedly pushed by DySP Harik-umar in November.
