50,000 people to attend WTC, CM K Chandrasekhar Rao guiding force behind
Hyderabad: About 50,000 people are expected to take part in the inauguration of the World Telugu Conference at LB Stadium on December 15.
Nearly 7,920 delegates, including 160 representatives from 40 countries, have registered their names for the event.
Six stalls will be set up inside the venue which will showcase Telangana history, culture, art and archaeology.
Another 50 stalls will be set up in the premises to showcase Telangana cuisines, Nirmal paintings, Pochampally handlooms, etc.
Vice-president Venka-iah Naidu will inaugurate the event while President Ram Nath Kovind will take part in the valedictory session.
Nandini Sidda Reddy, Telangana Sahitya Academy chairman, said Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao is the guiding force behind WTC.
“The CM is an ardent lover of Telugu language, literature, culture and art. He has undertaken several trips to LB Stadium and Ravindra Bharathi to guide us,” Mr Reddy noted.
The TS government has invited 60 distinguished literary personalities from other states and countries.
