Bengaluru: Introduction of Rs 2,000 note flayed

In a letter to PM Modi, Anti-Land Grab Action Committee pointed out that it has become easier to hoard black money with new Rs 2000 notes.

Bengaluru: The Anti-Land Grab Action Committee has sent three letters addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Siddaramiah and the Revenue department, raising three different issues.

In a letter to Mr Modi, Anti-Land Grab Action Committee pointed out that with the introduction of Rs 2,000 notes, it has become easier to hoard black money.

In its letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the committee has pointed out that with regard to Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor project by NICE (Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise) it was unconstitutional to have the project examined by a team headed by the Chief Secretary. “This was done only to protect top people from being convicted,” said Jayashree, secretary of the committee.

In the second letter addressed to Revenue Department, they highlighted the issue of agricultural land illegally being used for non-agricultural purposes and sought strict action.
