CII AP holds Quality Circle Competition

Vijayawada: CII Andhra Pradesh organised its 36th edition of the Andhra Pradesh State Level Quality Circle Competition for the year 2023 at Tirupati on Saturday. Triggering Titans Quality Circle team from Apollo Tyres Ltd emerged as the winner while Seshadri Quality Circle team from Electrosteel Castings Ltd was the runner-up and Super Hero’s Quality Circle team from Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd secured the third place, the organisers said.

The CII AP stated that the state-level competition was a part of CII’s continuous thrust towards strengthening the quality movement in India. The three winning teams will compete at the southern regional level competition and subsequently at the CII National QC Circle Convention. Past chairman of CII Tirupati and managing director of Sreenidhiraja Packaging Solutions Pvt Ltd Rajasekhar Naidu Galla inaugurated the competition participated by 26 teams and Prof. Vijaymohanan Pillai, the registrar of IISER Tirupati, announced the winners at the valedictory session.

CII has been continually advocating the need for increased attention to quality and productivity by industry and creating the need for total quality management (TQM). The Quality Circles are vital TQM Tools. They play a very important role in involving a wide cross-section of employees in an organisation for improving quality through participation and motivating workers to exchange ideas, and views and share experiences on Quality Circles and various approaches to problem-solving.
