Hyderabad: One-time film actor Nanduri Uday Kiran, who was an accused in several cases in Hyderabad and Kakinada including a POCSO Act offence, was arrested by the Madhapur police on Saturday. Kiran has been detained under the Preventive Detention Act by the Hyderabad city police.
On Friday night, Kiran and his girlfriend Anu Gupta were driving back drunk from a party in a car. Kiran who was behind the wheel rammed his vehicle into the car moving ahead of him. Based on their complaint, a case has been booked against Kiran and Anu under IPC Section 279 (rash driving) and Section 185 of MV Act (drunk driving), and for damaging government property. They have been placed under arrest.”
