Cyberabad police asks hostels, PGs to submit detailed report on security

There are over 200 such hostels spread in Gachibowli, Raidurgam and Madhapur limits.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police has found many hostels and paying guest accommodations in the I-T Corridor failing to practice the safety standards advised earlier.

Cyberabad police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar asked the management of the hostels and PGs to submit a detailed report on the security features and adopt the advised security arrangements.

After a recent survey the Cyberabad police found that several PG accommodations and women hostels were not following security standards.

There are over 200 such hostels spread in Gachibowli, Raidurgam and Madhapur limits.

“There is a large number of hostels accommodating the women in the I-T Corridor area of Madhapur, Gachibowli and Raidurgam. It is realised that there are no standard safety and security practices being followed in these women hostels and PGs. Time and again, issues related to women safety were discussed and the management of the hostels were asked to engage the prescribed security measures, but many are failing to do so,” he said.

A separate visitor register, sufficient storage of footage of CCTV cameras are required, he said.
