Census at Taj Falaknuma Hotel ahead of Global Entrepreneurship Summit

The intelligence agencies have pointed out the presence of a few families who are reported to be ISIS sympathisers.

HYDERABAD: The city police will conduct a census in areas around Taj Falaknuma Hotel in view of the visits by Ms Ivanka Trump, advisor to the White House and daughter of US President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi and other delegates on November 28 for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES). According to sources, the intelligence agencies have pointed out the presence of a few families who are reported to be ISIS sympathisers. Some of them were caught earlier or are under surveillance.

“To discourage anti-social elements in the neighbourhood around the hotel, a census is being taken up. Details of all the families are recorded,” said a senior police official. On Friday morning, the police conducted a search and cordon operation in the areas of Al Jubail Colony, Faroo-qnagar, Fatimanagar, Jangammet, Bandlaguda and Chandray-anguttam falling on route to Falaknuma.

The police rounded up about 69 persons, including history-sheeters, petty offenders and other suspects. All of them, except four persons against who non-bailable warrants are pending, were released, the police said. The police also caught eight persons who were involved in property offences in the state. The police seized 34 motorcycles and three auto rickshaws as the owners failed to show the documents of the vehicles.
