Ensure people don't face troubles: Chandrababu Naidu
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday enquired with New Delhi about the post-demonetised situation in AP. He also directed officials to make the necessary arrangements at banks to prevent inconvenience to people.
In a teleconference with ministers and district collectors, the CM asked officials to extend cooperation to people who are lining up at various banks by providing shelter and drinking water.
Mr Naidu appealed to people to cooperate though they were facing an initial inconvenience with the cancellation of higher denomination notes as the PM’s action would yield long-term benefits. He also directed officials to discuss with trade associations to supply essential commodities by accepting higher denomination currency notes.
Mr Naidu has also appointed a committee comprising the Chief Secretary and DGP and had arranged a toll free number – 1800-599-1111 – at the command control centre in Vijayawada.
The state government also released some more toll free numbers for the convenience of people.
