Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will start functioning from Block 1 at the interim Secretariat at Velagapudi from October 12 at the auspicious muhurat of 8.09 am. Work on the Chief Minister’s chambers is proceeding on a war footing. Many of the ministers have shifted to Velagapudi while some will shift after Dasara.
The Chief Minister had instructed that the staff should begin working from the Velagapudi Secretariat even though there were some pending works. Villages around the Secretariat wore a festive look with the Chief Minister due to occupy the office. Apart from deploying 50 police personnel outside the temporary secretariat, officials allocated five acres to accommodate the offices of security agencies including the office of the deputy superintendent of police, police station, an AP Special Police platoon, a command control room, and a bomb disposal squad. The Special Protection Force has already taken over security inside the Secretariat.
