New Delhi: Observing that women have left a mark in every area, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday stressed the need of working collectively against gender bias and help provide all opportunity to them to shine.

"The girl child has left a mark in every area, from studies to sports.

Saluting their accomplishments on International Day of the Girl Child, Modi said, "We should collectively work towards an India where there is no discrimination based on gender & where girls get all opportunities to shine," he said in a message.

The International Day of the Girl Child is observed every year on October 11 to support more opportunity for girls and increase awareness of gender inequality faced by them worldwide.
