Amit Shah, Jaitley to call on Jaya at Apollo hospital tomorrow
Chennai: Top BJP leaders Amit Shah and Arun Jaitley will visit Apollo hospital, where Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is admitted, on Wednesday.
"Honb BJP National president AmitShah Avl honb Union minister Arun Jaitley to call on Honb TN CM in Apollo hospital around 5pm tomorrow," BJP state unit president Tamilisai Sounderrajan said on her Twitter page.
Sources at the Chennai airport said the two leaders were likely to arrive from Delhi, proceed to Apollo hospital and return the same day.
Jayalalithaa (68) was admitted to the hospital on September 22 after she complained of fever and dehydration.
On Monday, Apollo hospital said in a release that Jayalalithaa continues to be under treatment and is being "constantly monitored" by the intensivists and the other consultants in the expert panel.” Necessary respiratory support, antibiotics, nutrition, supportive therapy and passive physiotherapy were being given to her, the statement added.
A stream of high-profile visitors, including Governors of Tamil Nadu and Kerala Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao and P Sathasivam, Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and Chief Ministers of Kerala and Puducherry Pinarayi Vijayan and V Narayanasamy have visited the hospital.
