Response to TD called bandh poor in N Andhra

In Gajuwaka, the TD workers were in scuffle with police who tried to stop their peaceful rally

Visakhapatnam: The response to bandh called by TD and supported by Jana Sena in north Andhra was poor. All private schools were closed voluntarily in Visakhapatnam. The government run schools and colleges functioned normally. The district has 900 schools of all management and 22,000 students enrolled in various classes.

In Gajuwaka, the industrial suburb of Visakhapatnam, the TD workers led by former MLA and Parliamentary constituency in charge Palla Srinivasa Rao were in scuffle with police who tried to stop their peaceful rally.

In Vizianagaram, all shops shut down and owners said they would open them after the lunch session.TD workers also staged dharna to stop buses in RTC Complex and they were whisked away by the police. TD workers try to stop buses in Palasa in Srikakulam district. Few were arrested.

Jana Sena which announced its gathering of party members at RTC Complex in Visakhapatnam were not seen.

APSRTC officials said buses operated normally including the agency district of ASR and Parvathipuram Manyam.

All the senior leaders are still under house arrest for the third consecutive day.
