Hyderabad: Traffic curbs for Ganesha Visarjan
Hyderabad: After winning plaudits for managing traffic over the past two years, the Hyderabad police has ordered traffic curbs in connection with the Ganesha idol immersion procession in the city on Thursday.
The restrictions will apply from 6 am on Thursday to 10 am on Friday and police advised motorists to avoid the procession routes. RTC and private buses entering the city would not be allowed on certain routes, said Hyderabad police commissioner Anjani Kumar.
The duration of traffic restrictions could be extended if necessary. No general vehicle would be allowed on the main procession route which would be open only to those carrying Ganesha idol.
Traffic will be diverted at Keshavagiri, Mahbubnagar crossoads, Enginebowli, Nagulchinta, Himmatpura, Haribowli, Asra Hospital, Mogulpura, Lakkadkote, Madina crossroad, MJ Bridge, Dar Ul Shifa crossroads, City College, Chanchalguda Jail crossroads, Moosarambagh, Chaderghat bridge, Shivaji bridge, Afzalgunj, Putlibowli crossroads, Troop Bazaar, Jambagh crossroads, Andhra Bank Koti, Tope Khana Mosque, Alaska Hotel Junction, Osmangunj, Shanker Bagh and Seena Hotel, Ajanta Gate near Exhibition Grounds, Abkari Lane, Taj Island, Barthan Bazaar, AR Petrol Pump at KLK Building.
Traffic will also be diverted at Chapel Road entry, Gadwal Centre at GPO, Shalimar theatre, Gun foundry, Skyline Road entry, Bharat Scouts & Guides Junction in Domalguda, Kalanjali near Police Control Room, Liberty Junction, MCH Office Y-Junction, BRK Bhavan junction near Telugu Talli Junction, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharati, Dwarka Hotel Junction, Khairatabad Junction (Visweswaraiah Statue), Children’s Park, Mariott Hotel junction, Kavadiguda Junction, Musheerabad crossroad, RTC crossroad, Katta Maisamma temple at Lower Tank Bund, Indira Park Junction.
Vehicles would not be allowed to enter Necklace Road and Tank Bund from Karbala Maidan, Buddha Bhavan, Sailing Club, and Nallagutta Junction and the diversions will be implemented.
Secunderabad
Traffic will be diverted at CTO, YMCA, Paradise crossroads, Patny crossroads, Bata Crossroads, Adavaiah crossroads, Ghasmandi crossroads, from 6 am on Thursday till the completion of idol immersion procession on Friday.
Parking
Parking lots for visitors have been organised at Institute of Engineers at Khairatabad, Khairatabad MMTS station, Anandnagar Colony to Ranga Reddy district ZP office, area behind Buddha Bhavan, Goseva Sadan, Lower Tank Bund, Katta Maisamma temple, NTR Stadium, Nizam College and Public Gardens.
Buses
Interstate and district buses reaching MGBS would not be permitted from 6 am on Thursday to 10 am on Friday on the procession routes and the TSRTC is providing alternative routes.
Private buses will be not allowed into the city from 8 am on Thursday till 10 am on Friday. People travelling to and from the airport and railways stations were advised to avoid Necklace Road, NTR Marg and Tank Bund to avoid inconvenience.
