No major untoward incidents were reported in the city as there was heavy security deployment in sensitive areas.

Bengaluru: City Police Commissioner T. Suneel Kumar said that the Bharat Bandh, called by the Congress and supported by other parties including its ally in Karnataka JD(S), was peaceful.

No major untoward incidents were reported in the city as there was heavy security deployment in sensitive areas. “The bandh was peaceful and no untoward incidents were reported from any parts of the city, except a minor incident of scuffle between some party workers and the public," the city police chief said.

 

The police had detained 14 people as a precautionary measure and were later released.
