Hyderabad: Techie, wife end life after quarrel

The deceased, P. Praveen and P. Anitha, both hailing from the Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, hanged themselves in their rented flat.

Hyderabad: Family disputes forced a 36-year-old techie and his wife to commit suicide in Allwyn Colony on Saturday night. The deceased, P. Praveen and P. Anitha, both hailing from the Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, hanged themselves in their rented flat.

Police said Praveen had completed engineering and was working for an MNC in Hyderabad. Anitha, who also was an engineering graduate, was searching for a job. The couple has an 18-month-old daughter who was staying with her maternal grandparents since two months.

Police said the couple had been fighting over petty issues since some time. Very often the fights turned ugly and the families had to intervene.

On Saturday night also an argument broke out among them and it continued till late in the night.

Around 12.30 am while Anitha was in the bedroom, Praveen hanged himself in the hall. Anitha saw this and called her mother Vani and said that Praveen had committed suicide. She also committed suicide later. Her family grew suspicious when she did not answer their calls. When they rushed to the spot on Sunday morning, they found Praveen hanging in the hall and Anitha hanging in the bedroom.

“They did not leave any suicide note and there is no suspicion about the suicides in both the families. We are trying for clues,” SI B. Bheem Kumar of Jagathgirigutta police station said.

After receiving a complaint from Anitha’s brother Naveen, a suspicious death case was registered, and the bodies were handed over to the families after autopsy.
