Thiruvananthapuram: Railways has cancelled many trains due to the heavy monsoon lashing the state.
Helpdesk numbers 9188292595, 9188293595 and 1072 are functional round the clock at the Divisional Headquarters, Thiruvananthapuram for providing information to passengers regarding changes in train services in Thiruvananthapuram Division.
Due to torrential rains and floods in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, several trains originating, arriving, passing through flood and landslide-affected areas had to be cancelled by the railways. Since passengers are moving out to safer places, they are not in a position to retrieve their tickets and bring them to the station for cancellation or obtaining Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR). Railways has therefore decided as a very special case to permit issue of TDRs at any station upto August 15 as against the normal rule of upto three days from the booked date of journey. The public can apply to the railways for refund after obtaining TDR from stations as above.
