Chennai: President Ram Nath Govind will be in Chennai on a two-day visit to Tamil Nadu during which he would have a once-in-40-years darshan of Athi Varathar on July 12 at lord Vartharajaswamy temple in Kanchipuram. Officials at Chennai airport said the President will have arrived at the Old Airport by 2.10 pm on Friday and after darshan, he will have left city by 4.35 pm. The Vice president, Venkaiah Naidu will arrive on July 13 and have darshan.
Sources said a review meeting was held at the Chennai airport on Wednesday regarding the security arrangements. Chennai police, CISF authorities and higher officials from Delhi attended the meeting.
