Hyderabad: Transco merit list still not out

Nearly 50,000 students are waiting for the merit list.

Hyderabad: The aspirants for the sub-engineer and junior linemen positions at TS Transco who appeared for their test a year ago but are still waiting for the merit list approached the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) with a request to release the same at the earliest. Nearly 50,000 students are waiting for the merit list.

Aspirant K. Usha Rani said, “We appeared for the test in February, 2018. A month later, results were declared. The department in its notification stated that it would give weightage to the outsourcing employees already working with TS Transco.

Many aspirants felt this wasn’t fair as the examination is meant to be a level playing ground. Subsequently, they approached a division bench, which could not come to a conclusion. Thereafter, they sent the case to a longer bench.”

The longer bench has not been formed so far. When aspirants approached the court about the formation of the bench, the court explained that they were busy due to elections and assured them that the bench would be formed after holidays.

“Those of us applying for private jobs can’t really afford to submit our certificates because we have not the slightest clue about when the department might call us for certificate verification,” Rani added.
