KUMARAMBHEEM: Three youth drowned and died on Wednesday in their attempt to rescue one another from a well in Muthyampet village, Kautala Mandal, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district.
The deceased were identified as Rajesh, 26; Srinivas, 25, and Mahesh, 18 — all from the same village.
Rajesh reportedly climbed into the well to check the motor pump and complained of suffocation. Subsequently, Srinivas entered the well to rescue Rajesh and soon after, Mahesh entered to rescue both Rajesh and Srinivas.
It is said that three might have died of asphyxiation after inhaling the poisonous gases which had collected inside the well.
The police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies from the well. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
