Daily direct flights from Mysuru to Kochi, Goa, Hyderabad from July 19

Mysuru: After direct flights to Chennai and Bengaluru, there will now be daily flights to Kochi, Goa and Hyderabad from the Mysuru Airport from July 19. The flights will be operated under the Udan ( Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) regional connectivity scheme, aimed at making air travel affordable and widespread.

Alliance Air, which is already operating a 70-seater ATR-72 flight between Mysuru and Bengaluru, will now fly similar daily direct flights from Mysuru to all the three new destinations.

The Hyderabad to Mysuru flight takes off from Hyderabad at 6.05 am and reaches Mysuru at 7.50 am. The flight from Mysuru to Hyderabad will depart at 7.20 pm and reach Hyderabad at 9.05 pm. The flight from Mysuru to Kochi departs at 8.15 am and reaches Kochi at 9.45 am. The return flight to Mysuru will depart from Kochi at 10.10 am and reach Mysuru at 11.40 am. The flight from Mysuru to Goa departs at 3.20 pm and reaches Goa at 4.50 pm. The return flight departs from Goa at 5.20 pm and reaches Mysuru at 6.50pm.

As an inaugural offer, the airfare for Mysuru-Hyderabad flight starts at `2,100, Mysuru-Kochi at `1,400 and Mysuru to Goa at `1,900.

Mysuru travel agents and hoteliers felt that improved air connectivity will boost tourism in the city by at least 20 to 30 percent. Nearly 60 percent of tourists to Mysuru are from other states and foreign countries and better air connectivity will help them, they said.

Also sources at the Mysuru Industries Association said, "Over the years, we have lost 20-30 percent of investors to Mysuru, which is second only to Bengaluru, due to lack of air connectivity. The industrial sector will definitely boom by not less than 20-30 percent over a period of time," they said.
