KOCHI: Senior Congress leader and Thrikkakara MLA P.T. Thomas can be proud of his timely intervention and continuous efforts to take the controversial actor abduction case to its logical conclusion. From the first day when he met the actor at producer Lal’s house along with another producer Anto Joseph on the night of the incident, Mr Thomas suspected criminal conspiracy behind it. He had said that there is someone behind Pulsar Suni and criticised the police for serious lapses in the initial phase of the investigation.
Mr Thomas, who alerted the police on being informed about the incident by Mr Joseph, listed three major turning points in the probe that were crucial: his letter seeking CBI probe into the incident, former DGP T.P Sen Kumar’s instruction to include IG Dinedra Kashyap, head of the special investigation team in the probe and the revelations made by the jail mate of Pulsar Suni.
“The arrest of Dileep has exposed the real face of some actor-turned-politicians like Innocent, Mukesh and Ganesh Kumar,” Mr Thomas said. Welcoming the arrest of Dileep, Mr Thomas said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan who dismissed the criminal conspiracy involved in the case in the first phase of investigation should tender apology to Kerala society. “People will not be convinced of the state government’s role in Dileep’s arrest unless the Chief Minister tendered unconditional apology for derailing the initial probe in the case,” he said.
