S Swathi's dad makes another plea to top cop
Chennai: The slain Infosys techie S Swathi's father, Santhana Gopalakrishnan, on Monday approached the City Police Commissioner's office requesting the top cop to arrest the makers of the film on his daughter's murder.
Based on his complaint, the cyber crime wing of the city police had already registered an FIR against the director Ramesh Selvan and the producer of the movie on June 10.
However, the director and the makers had already applied for an anticipatory bail before the Madras HC. The court, while considering their plea, posted the matter for further hearing and ordered the trio not to be arrested until then.
Earlier, on May 31, Swathi's family had approached the Director General of Police on Wednesday requesting the state's top cop to disallow release of the film, two days after the trailer released
S.Swathi was murdered on June 24 last year in Nungambakkam railway station while she was waiting to board the train to work. The accused, P.Ram Kumar had allegedly stalked her for three months and killed her after she reportedly ignored him. Ram Kumar, who was arrested after a statewide search, committed suicide by biting a live electric wire in the high security Puzhal central prison.
