3.5 lakh pattas to homeless poor
Chennai: Revenue minister R. B. Udhayakumar on Monday announced that a total of 3,50,000 pattas would be distributed to homeless poor people this year.
He said community certificates for school students would be issued in 48 hours if one of their family members had already obtained a community certificate through e-service.
Unmanned airplanes would be used to photograph water channels so that they could be maintained properly and mitigate flood damage. Besides, a GIS cell would be set up with the technical assistance of Anna University to analyse the disaster details. The details would be helpful in disaster management plans, he added.
Replying to the discussion on demand for grants to his ministry in the Assembly, he said the disaster relief fund which is given to the victims of storm, flood, drought, earthquake, fire, tsunami and hailstone would be extended for those affected by sea erosion, thunder and whirlwind.
New software would be created to provide e-service for land acquisition, transfer, lease and patta transfer. He also announced the introduction of Torrens titling system as a pilot project to prove the rights of land owners.
The minister said state drought monitoring centre with experts in agriculture, water shed management, water resources management, natural resources management besides a system analyst, documentation specialist would be set up. He also unveiled plans for the formation of district drought monitoring centre comprising officials of various departments.
He also announced that certificates for inter-caste marriage, widow, unemployed, migration, unmarried, heir, nativity, residence, property value, pawnbrokers licence, money lender licence and OBC would be issued through e-service.
He also said certificates through e-service would be provided for agricultural income and identification for farmers.
The minister said action had been taken on 99.88 per cent of the petitions submitted by the people under Amma scheme to solve people's grievances.
