K Chandrasekhar Rao stays mum on RTC's woes
Only representatives of Telangana Mazdoor Union were invited to the meeting, including the Employees' Union.
Hyderabad: RTC buses will continue to pay nearly Rs 100 crore as toll tax, while government vehicles are exempt at toll plazas in the state.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who had earlier announced that he would ensure that RTC buses need not pay toll to spare passengers of the additional fares, did not take up the issue during his review meeting last week.
RTC union leaders said the meeting also did not deal with other issues like waiving motor vehicle tax being paid by the RTC or reducing VAT on diesel. Only representatives of Telangana Mazdoor Union were invited to the meeting, including the Employees’ Union, which has a majority at the state level.
