TSPSC Successfully Conducts Re-Exam for Group 1 Recruitment After Question Paper Leak

Hyderabad: The TS Public Service Commission (TSPSC) re-conducted the Group 1 recruitment examination on Sunday from 10.30 am to 1 pm, after postponing it the first time round due to the leakage of question papers.

The exam went off smoothly, for the most part. Some students weren't allowed to take the exam as they reached the centre late.

Some aspirants were seen hurrying to their centres post 9.45 am. The roads leading to the centres remained jammed until 2.30 pm as some families waited outside or near the centre until the exam got over, to take the students back home.

As they came out, some students were seen discussing their paper, others had smiles and some appeared relieved that it was over. "We've done our job, it's our hope and prayer that no untoward incident takes place and deserving candidates get the posts," said Mitra K., an aspirant.

A total of 3,80,032 candidates applied for the examinations for 503 posts. The TSPSC had set up 994 centres. In Karimnagar district, Section 144 was imposed to disrupt obstructions via protests, etc.

Candidates said the paper seemed lengthier but had a good focus on all areas. "The paper was slightly tougher than the one in October. It was lengthy and had a few questions on matters that one wouldn't expect," said A. Suganditha, an aspirant.

"The questions were thought-provoking and not merely designed to reduce the aspirants to a manageable number. The tone and tenor of questions is a clear pointer that the commission wants to select aspirants who would be aware of all the areas and are focussed towards their goal," another observed.

Some students complained of a lack of good ventilation at their exam centre and some said that even something as basic as a fan wasn't provided in the hot summer, which caused discomfort and distracted them. Reportedly not all centres had metal detectors.
