CM presents progress report on 3 years of LDF rule.

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinrayi Vijayan on Monday said that the LDF government during its three-year tenure in office had achieved major success in education, health, environment, corruption-free governance and infrastructure development .

He was speaking after handing over a copy of the progress report of the LDF government to Speaker P Sreeramakris-hnan.

Mr Vijayan said the LDF government had played a key role ensuring inclusive development and social justice.

The Chief Minister said during the last two years 3.41 lakh students joined government schools from other institutions. This academic year already 1.47 lakh students have joined the government schools. “This is what development is,” he said.

This change has happened because of the unbelievable improvement in government education sector. Parents and children now know that the best of education is available in the government schools.

Health sector has undergone significant changes.

There is huge rush of people in hospitals at different level indicating that the facilities have improved not only in medical colleges where multi specialty wings have been opened but also at the taluk and general hospitals.Family health centres and concept of family doctor is fast picking up.

On the investment front, the Chief Minister said mega companies like Nissan, Fujitsu, Airbus, Taurus have set shops in the state. Many more major companies are queuing up to do business in Kerala, he added. This has been possible because of the significant changes made in the existing laws and rules for ensuring “ease of business.”

He said the work on NH widening was taking place at a faster pace. Land acquisition is almost over in many places and in other areas it is being taken up on priority.

Mr Vijayan claimed that corruption at the top level has been wiped out. Most sectors are now corruption free. There are certain remnants which too will be cleaned up in the due course.
