Kottayam: KE School shines with first and second ranks

While the first and third rank holders would like to do computer science, the second rank holder would like to pursue electrical engineering.

Kottayam: While first three rank holders for the engineering entrance examinations in the state belong to schools in Kottayam, the third rank holder is from Jharkhand who wants to get into the Indian Administrative Services.

The first rank holder Vishnu Vinod and second rank holder Gautham Govind A. studied in the same class at the KE School, Mannanam. Vishnu is a native of Anakkara in Idukki district and studied at the Montfort School till tenth standard and the Plus two at KE School, Mannanam. He secured 99.17 per cent marks for his plus two examinations.

The elder child of Vinodkumar, a cardomom farmer and Santha-kumary, a house wife, he is yet to develop his perspective on future choices. The entrance coaching at school helped him secure the top rank, he said.

Gautham, the second rank holder, secured 98.8 per cent marks for his plus two examinations and would like to study electrical engineering in an IIT. His father Anil Kumar is a chief engineer with the merchant navy and mother Remya S. is working in the treasury at Ettumanoor. He says that the model exams at the school helped him a lot to secure top rank.

While the first and third rank holders would like to do computer science, the second rank holder would like to pursue electrical engineering.

Third rank holder Nawaz wants to graduate in computer science and engineering and then proceed to civil service. He studied till tenth at Jawagar Navodaya Vidyyalaya Japla, in Jharkhand, and for Plus two at Kottayam Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. His father Ubaid Ahmad is working in the Jharkhand Electricity Board.
