Chennai: Lying low after the Chennai police registered a criminal case against him for posting abuse against women journalists on social media and the Supreme Court refused to grant him anticipatory bail, S.Ve.Shekher made a rare appearance on Sunday to cast vote in the South Indian Cinema and TV producers association here.
Shekher arrived without any fanfare at the election venue at the Kandasamy college in Anna Nagar and after exchanging greetings with the friends in the entertainment industry, gathered there in good numbers for poll work, cast his vote and quietly left.
He politely turned down requests for interview from TV reporters stationed there.
It may be recalled that opposition politicians have been critical of the state government and the police for being soft on the actor-politician even though the Supreme Court turned down his anticipatory bail petition sometime back, asking him to approach the appropriate court in Chennai for the purpose.
