Hyderabad: Parents deny entry, man climbs tower
Hyderabad: Angered over his parents preventing him from entering his house for getting married to a woman from a different caste 10 years ago, a 35-year-old man climbed a mobile tower at Yadadri on Sunday.
Police swung into action and brought him down, with an assurance that they will convey the matter to his parents and ensure they stay together.
Sub-Inspector M. Sathyanarayana of Mothkur police station said they have counselled him.
Meanwhile, tension prevailed in the area for an hour with the person threatening to jump from the tower on one side and his wife and kids crying for help.
Dasoju Upendra Chary, 35, hailing from Mothkur and working in a private finance company is the eldest among three sons. A decade ago, he got married to a girl from a different caste.
Since it was a love marriage, the couple were not allowed to enter his house. Since then he has been staying with his wife and two kids at Hyderabad.
On Sunday, he visited his parents’ home with his family. Upendra alleged that his parents did not allow him and his family to enter.
An argument broke out between him and his father, after which he ran out and climbed a mobile tower.
Police said that his father asked him to stay away, until his younger brothers got married. Not satisfied, Upendra demanded a share in the property.
A General Diary entry was made in the police station.
