Driver loses control of car, swerves right, lands in ditch
Hyderabad: An unidentified car ran off the road and landed in a pit at Dundigal. Police suspect that the incident occurred due to overspeeding and launched a search for the owner and the driver.
According to police records, the car is registered in the name of Patolla Narsimha Reddy and has three pending traffic challans.
The incident occurred at Bahadurpally village under Dundigal police station limits on Saturday midnight, said the police.
Alerted by passersby, police rushed to the spot and checked the vehicle.
They said that there were no passengers and it seemed like the driver was speeding, lost control of the vehicle and swerved to the extreme right before landing in the ditch.
“The driver could have been under the influence of alcohol, due to which he could have abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot. The number of passengers in the vehicle at the time of the incident is also not clear,” said an official from the Dundigal police station.
Police launched a hunt to trace the driver and are verifying CCTV cameras in the surroundings to check the direction from which the vehicle was coming.
