Bengaluru: Dial 100 gets tech makeover

The service is expected to bring down both the call response and Hoysala patrolling team response time.

Bengaluru: To ensure quick response to emergencies, the city police have upgraded the police control room and have equipped it with 100 lines and 90 communication officers with multilingual support.

Now, citizens can seek help during emergencies, talk to counsellors at Women’s Helpline and Elders’ Helpline by dialing just one emergency response number, named ‘Namma 100’. The service is expected to bring down both the call response and Hoysala patrolling team response time.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the upgraded service, which is in tune with the international standards and is said to be the first in the country, on Saturday.
