Wife ends life hours after man's funeral
BENGALURU: Dejected over her husband’s suicide, a 22-year-old woman ended her life barely a few hours after the last rites of her husband. The tragic incident was reported in Ambedkar Nagar in Banashankari 2nd Stage on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Chaitra. She was the wife of Manikanta, 28, a painter who too ended his life on Wednesday. According to the police, they were in love with each other for six years and had got married with parents’ consent in 2014.
Manikanta was suffering from kidney failure and had incurred huge debts, as he had borrowed money for treatment. However, as there was no improvement in his health, he ended his life by hanging on Wednesday morning at his house. On Thursday evening, his last rites was performed at Banashankari electric crematorium. “Around 10.30 pm, Chaitra’s mother Manjula went to
her room and was shocked to find her hanging from the ceiling. An alert was made to the police. She has left a note stating, ‘Please wait for me, I am following you. I miss you’, which is addressed to her husband,” the police added. Banashankari police have registered a case of unnatural death.
