BJP-ruled states are thriving, claims Amit Shah
Suryapet: During his more-than-an-hour-long address to mark the two-year rule of the Modi government, BJP chief Amit Shah asked whether every village in the state got 24-hour power, had road links, hospitals, safe drinking water, new jobs etc.
He answered his own question: “Yes, you have these in BJP-ruled states like Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, etc. That’s why people elected BJP in the recent elections.”
Mr Shah said that only the BJP could give a suitable reply to the “communal” MIM chief Owaisi, and not TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
He asked the crowd whether Mr Rao could take on Mr Owaisi. “Will you strengthen BJP? The hands of Narendra Modi”, he asked the crowd, and received a resounding affirmative.
Referring to AICC president Sonia Gandhi asking what the BJP government had done in two years, Mr Shah in turn asked what the Congress had done in 60 years of family rule.
Explaining the NDA government’s multi-dimensional approach to tackling unemployment and poverty and ensuring a vibrant economy, he said the Centre took up several initiatives including “Skill India, Start up India, Make in India, Stand up India” etc.
“We provided Rs 10,000 to Rs 10 lakh loans to the eligible, opened 22 crore bank accounts, provided accident cover for just Rs 12 and life insurance for Rs 300. During our two-year rule, growth rate touched 7.9 per cent and India is now the fastest growing economy in the world,” he said.
