Kerala Congress (M) rubbishes own paper’s editorial

KCM deputy Chairman C.F. Thomas said that the article is not with the knowledge of the party.

Kottayam: Kerala Congress (M) Vice Chairman Jose K. Mani MP said that the article which appeared in the party mouth piece Prathichaya is not the official stand of the party.

He said that the Kerala Congress (M) will carry out an inquiry into the article which came against the Congress party and KCM working Chairman P.J. Joseph.

The article written by Editor Kurias Kumbalakuzhy said that the Congress leaders tried to slow pedal the investigation against KM Mani in the bar bribe case. It also alleged that P.J. Joseph was not willing to Mr Mani’s suggestion that they could together render the resignation when the bar bribe scandal came up. Mani was then compelled to resign alone later, the article said.

Responding to the article in Prathichaya, Mr Joseph said that at the time of the bar bribe allegation the UDF leaders stood by Mr Mani.

KCM deputy Chairman C.F. Thomas said that the article is not with the knowledge of the party.

He said that the party will inquire into the matter. The article comes at a time when there are moves ongoing to wrestle the party leadership from aspirants.
