Hyderabad: Stay positive, SSC students told
Hyderabad: SSC students of government schools are being counselled ahead of the release of their exam results. They are being told that the SSC results are not the end of the world.
Commissioner, school education, Vijay Kumar said the students were being told that there were multiple types of intelligence. A person can survive even if one of those are put to best use.
Headmasters concluded a two-day counselling session for students and parents on Friday, in an attempt to avoid a ripple effect of the Intermediate exam results. Some principals are extending the sessions over the weekend to cover those who missed out earlier.
Students are being told to be positive no matter what the results are. While attendance was poor on the first day, it picked up on Friday.
This effort is limited only to government schools. Many private schools have ignored instructions to hold the counselling sessions.
Mr Venkat Sainath of the Hyderabad Schools Parents Association said, “No parents in our association has received a call from the schools to participate in the counselling.”
Mr Ch. Ravi of the United Teachers Federation said, “This should have been made compulsory. The private schools escape every responsibility.”
