Telangana-Andhra Pradesh: IMD forecasts rain for five days

The city witnessed a drop in the maximum temperature to 38.7 degree Celsius on Thursday.

Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a thunderstorm warning for Telangana state and Rayalaseema, and has forecast heavy rainfall for coastal Andhra Pradesh till May 14.

The city is likely to receive rain or thundershowers towards the evening or night over the next five days. The city witnessed a drop in the maximum temperature to 38.7 degree Celsius on Thursday.

The IMD said isolated places in TS and Rayalaseema could experience thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds with speeds reaching 50-70 kmph. Coastal AP can expect heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places.

On Thursday, moderate rainfall was recorded in some areas in Khammam, Wanaparthy, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Warangal, Sangareddy, Medak and Chevella districts.

Some other districts reported a rise in day temperatures. Adilabad, Nizamabad and Ramagundam were the hottest at 43 degree Celsius, followed Mahbubnagar, Medak and Nalgonda at 41$baC.
