Chennai: The Madras high court dismissed the anticipatory bail petition filed by actor-turned politician S.Ve. Shekher, who apprehended arrest in connection with a case registered against him for his alleged derogatory Facebook post on women.Justice S. Ramathilagam who dismissed the anticipatory bail petition filed by S.Ve.Shekher said, "The language and words used are not indirect but direct abusive obscene foul language which is not expected from a person of this caliber and age who claims to be a literate with credentials and with many followers. Instead of being a role model to his followers, he sets a wrong precedent."
The judge said that when a celebrity forwards messages like this, it sends a wrong message to society at a time when we are talking about women's empowerment.
