Hyderabad: Legal metrology officials conducted raids on four city malls and registered 102 cases for various violations and seized Rs 72 lakh worth property during the raids.
Four teams headed by the assistant controller of legal metrology department raided four shopping malls at Banjara Hills, Kukatpally, Madhapur and Punjagutta following complains of violation of the legal metrology (package commodities) rules.
The officials booked 30 cases of various violations at Inorbit Mall in Madhapur and seized goods worth Rs 52 lakh, at Punjagutta 40 cases were registered against Hyderabad Central and 15 lakh worth goods seized. 15 cases were registered against Forum Sujana Mall in Kukatpally and goods worth Rs 90,000 were seized and 17 cases were registered against Banjara Hills GVK Mall and Rs 3.4 lakh worth goods seized.
