Hyderabad: Traffic jams at many places as roads remained waterlogged
Hyderabad: The city witnessed heavy traffic congestion on Wednesday morning after heavy rain and thunderstorms on Tuesday night. Many trees were uprooted at Erramanzil and near NIMS hospital towards Panjagutta, leading to waterlogging and the impact was felt till noon.
The GHMC emergency squad cleared water stagnation along with traffic police. GHMC teams removed a few trees that had fallen at KCP Junction and other junctions along the road.
Traffic jams were witnessed in areas like Srinagar T-Junction, Nampally (towards Harsha hotel), Vengal Rao Park, Nanalnagar, Masab tank, NMDC, Metro Café Musheerabad and Bible House due to uprooted trees and waterlogging.
Mr Abhishekh Nath, a resident of Hyderabad, tweeted last night after he seeing the municipal corporation team get down to business. He tweeted: “Kudos 2 GHMC teams on the streets working to clear roads; JCB being used to move uprooted trees.” Dr Ravinder, joint traffic commissioner, said, “Waterlogging led to slow movement of traffic but there were not many traffic jams in the city. Whatever congestion was there was cleared by noon.”
