Cancel Neet, conduct fresh one, says Dase
Chennai: The Doctors’ Association for Social Equality (Dase), on Wednesday, demanded that the Centre cancel the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Neet) as questions in various languages varied.
In a statement, Dr G. R. Ravindranath, secretary, Dase, said that students across the country took up Neet in 10 different languages, which included English, Hindi and Tamil.
“A series of 180 questions was asked and it was common test for all. However, the 180 questions were not the same in all languages,” he said.
He also alleged that question paper in Gujarati was easier that the same in Bengali, which students admitted was tough. Similarly, in the case of Tamil Nadu, the English paper was a little difficult as compared to the Tamil paper.
The exam has therefore created an uproar among the public as it was not common for all. “A fresh exam should be conducted with the series of 180 questions equal for all though in 10 different languages.
There were also many reports of the first Neet, wherein a number of questions were leaked and three were arrested for the same by Delhi police. However, no further action was taken. The Central Board for Investigation should conduct an inquiry,” demanded the doctor.
