TRS’ allegation out of fear, says Konda Vishweshwar Reddy

Both parties complained to Telangana Chief Electoral officer Rajat Kumar on Wednesday.

Hyderabad: While Chevella Lok Sabha Congress candidate and sitting MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy has denied any links with Konda Sandeep Reddy, who was caught on Wednesday with Rs 10 lakh in as-yet unaccounted for cash, the TRS says Sandeep Reddy is Vishweshwar Reddy’s man.

Both parties complained to Telangana Chief Electoral officer Rajat Kumar on Wednesday.

Konda Vishweshwar Reddy told the media that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is making false allegations against him because he fears the TRS will be defeated in Chevella.

He said that the police has given wrong information to the media that they have seized Rs 10 lakh from a follower of his, which is not correct.

He said when police recovered Rs 10 lakh they are alleging Rs 15 crore was seized and questioned how, if the person’s surname is ‘Konda’, he is related to him. He demanded action be taken against the Gachibowli Circle Inspector for leaking wrong information to the media.

Mr Vishweshwar Reddy met Mr Kumar along with AICC spokesperson Dasoju Sravan Kumar, TPCC election cordinator G. Niranjan and TPCC disciplinary committee chairman M. Kodanda Reddy. Mr Dasoju said that after seeing their complaint, the CEO said that not `15 crore but only `10 lakh had been seized.

He demanded to prove that the police has seized `15 crore or concerned police officer should be suspended.

G. Niranjan said that going against the model code of conduct, Mr Rao is using Pragathi Bhavan as his political office and B-forms were distributed to TRS candidates from there.

He said that his party has made several complaints about the TRS to the EC but no action has been taken.

In a counter complaint to the EC, TRS MLA Arikepudi Gandhi, MLC Srinivasa Reddy and TRS general secretary Pochampalli Srinivasa Reddy urged action against Vishweshwar Reddy who, they said, is distributing money openly.
