Nellore: One die as YSRC campaign van hits lorry
The mishap took place when the driver of the van dozed off on the wheel.
Nellore: A lorry driver was killed and four others were critically injured when the campaign van of YSR Congress hit a lorry on Pamuru – Mydukuru national highway at Krishnapuram in Marripadu mandal of Nellore district on Wednesday.
After the completion of election campaign the lorry was on its way Pamuru from Mydukuru.The victim has been identified as Nagari Sanjeeva Rayudu, 53, of Maddireddypalle in Mydukuru mandal of Prakasam district.
The mishap took place when the driver of the van dozed off on the wheel. The driver also sustained injuries in the incident. Marripadu SI Kondapa Naidu shifted the injured to the government hospital in Atmakur after registering a case. Police had a tough time in extracting the body of the driver from the mangled cabin.
