Hyderabad: Voters head back to hometowns

While many started their journey on Tuesday night itself, there was a huge rush of vehicle on NH 65 as polling date is on Thursday.

Hyderabad: In view of polls on Thursday, there was a huge rush at toll gates in Vijayawada-Hyderabad National Highway 65 on Wednesday. The rush was mainly due to people, who settled in Hyderabad, were going back to their hometowns in Andhra Pradesh to exercise their voting right.

While many started their journey on Tuesday night itself, there was a huge rush of vehicle on NH 65 as polling date is on Thursday.

Due to this huge rush, vehicles formed a beeline at the toll gate waiting for their turn to pay the tax.

According to sources, some frustrated commuters started arguing with the toll staff as people had wait for almost two hours.

The traffic jam spread over a kilometre from the Panthangi toll plaza which comes between the Vijayawada Hyderabad national Highway.
