At a time when Rajinikanth is gearing up to plunge into full time politics and announce the name of his political party soon, his wife Latha Rajinikanth was spotted at Kanchipuram Kamatchi Amman Temple attending a 10-day homam (ritual) conducted at the temple for world peace which commenced on Monday.
With Tamil Nadu reeling under several problems for the last two years and people protesting on all kinds of issue, the temple authorities are offering this Sri Dasa Mahavidya Yajna for the welfare of people of the universe.
Talking to the media, Latha said, “I heard about this Yaagam and wanted to join the first day of the ritual and offer my prayers to Amman. You all know the present unrest the state is going through. I only prayed that everything should come to a peaceful end and people should lead a calm life.”
When queried about the burning Cauvery issue, declining politely she said, “I don’t want to speak politics here.” For a question on whether Rajinikant would also attend the Yaagam, she replied, “I have no idea about his programme.”
