Farmer attempts suicide in front of KCR's camp office at Pragati Bhavan

Hyderabad: A paddy farmer attempted to commit suicide in front of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s camp office at Pragati Bhavan on Tuesday.

The farmer, 24-year-old Modikatti Saidulu, had come to Pragati Bhavan to meet the CM, but was denied entry. He stood outside on the footpath and consumed pesticide he had carried with him.

Security personnel noticed his condition and rushed him to Gandhi Hospital, where he was treated and is said to be out of danger.

Mr Saidulu told Deccan Chronicle later that he had incurred losses of Rs 10 lakh and though his land was very close to a canal, there was no water.
