CPM blames BJP for attack on dalits
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM on Tuesday launched a parallel campaign against BJP led Central Government on the Atrocities Act by taking out Raj Bhavan march. Hundreds of CPM workers and PKS took part in the march which was also in protest against the brutal killing of dalits on April 2 nationwide bharat bandh. The district units of the party took out march to central government offices and held demonstrations.
CPM district secretary Anavoor Nagappan called upon party workers to resist the attack against dalits. He accused the BJP led government at the Centre and the RSS of mounting attack on dalits and tribals. There is a clear agenda of creating a communal and caste polarisation to divert the attention from Modi government's failures, he said.
The CPM had come in for sharp criticism from dalit outifits for the alleged role of LDF Government in defeating their hartal. Last week, the assembly had passed a resolution urging the Centre to take all steps to challenge the verdict and also explore the possibilities of framing legislation to overcome the negative impact of the verdict.
