Bengaluru: CM Siddaramaiah launches Pink Patrol, Suraksha app
Bengaluru: Launching the Pink Patrol vehicles and Suraksha app, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday said that only when the crime rate decreases, the purpose of providing hi-tech vehicles and introducing apps will be served.
After launching the Pink Patrol vehicles and the app, exclusively meant for women in distress, at Vidhana Soudha, he said, “The number of crimes against women is increasing every day and the government is taking stringent measures to curb such crimes. Pink Patrol vehicles and the Suraksha app are also part of such measures,” he said. “The police should keep a watch on the activities of anti-social elements round-the-clock. The police should change and update themselves according to the changing times. The public too should cooperate with the police and appreciate them when they do good work,” he said.
City Police Commissioner Praveen Sood said that Pink Patrol vehicles will be used to attend to complaints raised by women using Suraksha App or through dialling 100. Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwar, Minister Roshan Baig, DG&IGP R. K. Dutta and other senior police officers attended the event.
